B.A. Communications – Cal State Long Beach
Joy Liberty started taking dance classes in 3rd grade and taught her first class in 6th grade.
She continued dancing and singing through high school in show choir and on the cheer team. Joy also performed on-stage in a handful of musicals during college, including A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Oklahoma!
After college, Joy was the owner and lead instructor of Joy’s Dance Company. She closed the dance company and moved to Colorado where she taught technique classes for competition-level dance students and also coached a high school Poms team.
Joy moved back to California in 2016 and took a break from instructing dance until she started working as a sub for a few dance companies in Orange County in 2018.
Joy is excited to be teaching again as part of the Focus family!
