With expertise in popping, breakdancing, hip-hop, and ballet folklórico, she creates innovative choreography that seamlessly blends sharp precision with fluid, expressive storytelling.
Maya began dancing at just two years old, training in Capoeira and ballet folklórico. She grew up in Japan, where she expanded her training to include gymnastics and breakdancing, developing a diverse and unique movement vocabulary. With over 15 years of dance experience and 6 years of choreography, her work is recognized for its rhythmic precision, creativity, and ability to connect with audiences.
Since moving to the United States, Maya has continued to explore a wide range of dance cultures, further broadening her artistic perspective and deepening her passion for global movement styles, including K-pop.
As an instructor, Maya is dedicated to inspiring growth, confidence, and curiosity in her students. She strives to create an encouraging and inclusive environment where dancers feel empowered to challenge themselves, explore new movement, and develop both technically and artistically.
