Kaelyn Zhou

Kaelyn Zhou, a native of Irvine, California, is currently studying at the University of California, Irvine. Her passion for dance blossomed at the age of 3, and she has been dancing ever since. For seven years, Kaelyn was a company member at DanceLova Dance Academy, where she dedicated herself to training in the styles of ballet, lyrical, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, and tumbling/acro.

In 2018, Kaelyn received the title of “Runner-up Dancer of the Year” at the Rainbow Regional Dance Competition. During her high school years, she danced on the Woodbridge High School Dance Team, where she served as Lieutenant. In the 2020 Irvine PTA Art Reflections contest for original dance choreography, Kaelyn was awarded 1st place within her school and 2nd place in the Irvine Unified School District for her solo submission. This accomplishment continued into 2021, when she secured 1st place in the school district level with another solo performance.

Post-graduation, Kaelyn joined G-Train, the youth exhibition team affiliated with GRV (based in the “Offstage” studio). She currently dances with Groove, a professional exhibition team under GRV, and Project Renegade, a hip-hop team rooted in the University of California, Irvine.

Kaelyn’s teaching journey began at the age of 15, instructing classes at a dance camp for younger students at DanceLova Dance Academy. As she turned 18, she took on substitute teaching roles at Woodbridge High School, Joy of Dance, and FOCUS Dance Center. Presently, she is honored to be a regular faculty member at FOCUS Dance Center, where she hopes to share her love for dance with aspiring students.
