Terre Marriott has been teaching dance for more than 40 years, beginning her teaching journey at just 17 years old. In 1983, she earned her teaching certification from Dance Masters of America, Inc., where she later served on the Executive Board of Directors for Dance Masters of Southern California, including a term as 1st Vice President. Terre also directed the prestigious Miss and Mr. Dance of Southern California Competition for three years.

Since the inaugural season of FOCUS Dance Center in 2003, Terre has been a valued faculty member, serving as both a competition choreographer and class instructor. In addition to teaching, she is the Faculty and Class Administrator, a member of the FOCUS Media Team, and the Costume Coordinator for all universal performance classes. Terre also directs the FOCUS Summer Camps and Audition Workshops, a role she has held for over a decade.

Beyond FOCUS, Terre dedicated more than 25 years to Bethany Christian Academy, where she served as Student Activities Director, Dance Drill Team Director (Pre-K–8th), and Middle School Performing Arts and Puppetry Teacher until August 2023. Her commitment to arts education earned her a commendation from the City of Westminster Mayor and City Council, recognizing her as one of Westminster’s most dedicated performing arts educators.

Terre’s professional experience also includes performing with and serving as Assistant Director for Orange Coast College’s Educational Touring Company, under the direction of Monie Adamson. She performed for Adamson on the Warner Bros. Television pilot New York Daze and was the choreographer and teacher of the 1984 Jr. Star Search Dance Champions. Additionally, she owned and directed the Marriott Dance Center in Westminster, CA, for more than seven years.

Many of Terre’s students have gone on to thrive in the professional dance world—appearing on Broadway, in major ballet companies, film, television, music videos, and beyond. Countless others have followed in her footsteps, becoming teachers and choreographers themselves.

Terre’s lifelong teaching philosophy can be summed up in her motto to her students:
“The sky is the limit!”
